Behind one of the prettiest colonial houses in Sri Lanka, reminiscent of Charles Dickens' Miss Havisham, are a series of mud and wattle treehouses perched upon the banks of a roaring river, set deep in the rain forest. The river is ideal for white water rafting. The huts are very rustic but with an imaginative, innovative design, each seemingly blending in with the tree it surrounds. Simple, yet with plumbed facilities, a stay here is one with nature. There are some great walks around the area as well as a series of natural rock pools which are great to swim in.
