Ampersand’s Grand Tour of Scotland is a fantastic tailor-made holiday for the discerning first time visitor which combines the country's beautiful natural landscapes, historic cities, luxury hotels and country pursuits.
In Edinburgh stay at the recently revamped century-old Caledonian hotel. Perfectly located for wandering into town, the Caledonian has fantastic views of Princes Street Gardens and Edinburgh Castle. The following day move from historic Edinburgh to the legendary Gleneagles hotel where you have the opportunity to engage in a range of country pursuits and activities from horse riding and clay pigeon shooting to fishing and falconry. From Perthshire move on to Cameron House, a luxurious property located on the banks of Loch Lomond, part of the Trossachs National Park. Once in Loch Lomond relax at the hotel and take advantage of its many facilities including world-class golf courses and an award-winning ESPA spa.
The following day a drive or train journey will take you on to Inverlochy Castle, a grandiose county house hotel set in the foothills of Ben Nevis. Here you are well situated to visit whisky distilleries, play a round of golf, visit the Glenfinnan Monument or go trekking in nearby Grampian Mountains. Journey north into the Scottish Highlands where your next stop is the scenic Loch Ness. Take a boat ride on Loch Ness and visit Urquhart Castle on its banks before visiting the historic Culloden Battlefield. The next day transfer to Inverness airport for your flight home.
