The Ultimate Downton Abbey Experience

9 days from £4,530 / $7,293 per person
Journey back to the Edwardian era on this 8 day tour based around the award-winning period drama. Visiting London, the village of Bampton and even Downton itself – among many other iconic filming locations – this is the ultimate Downton Abbey experience.
Begin the trip by exploring the sets of London; from Lady Rosamund’s residence in Belgravia, to east of the capital where Lady Rose goes to a tea dance dressed as a maid. Journey west out of London to the National Trust property of Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire which doubled as Haxby Park in Series 2, and enjoy a typically English afternoon tea on the estate. Drive to the quintessential country village of Woodstock in stunning Oxfordshire and soak up the peaceful rural community atmosphere before spending time exploring the nearby village of Bampton, the set of Downton village, where many of the outdoor scenes are filmed.
In the Oxfordshire Cotswolds area travel to the village of Shilton to see The Red Lion pub where Bates worked followed by lunch or supper at The Swan Inn in Swinbrook; the set for Lady Sybil’s and Branson’s elopement. See the working Cogges Manor Farm in Witney known in Downton Abbey as Yew Tree Farm and the home of Mr Drewe the tenant farmer.
Moving on from the Cotswolds travel to the Royal County of Berkshire visiting extremely grand and historic properties used in the series and staying in accommodation to match. Visit the most fabulous and grand of them all, Highclere Castle, where most of the interior and exterior filming of the abbey takes place. Choose to have a private tour of the castle and the grounds before ending the tour on a high at the Connaught Hotel in Mayfair.
