A picturesque lodge situated amongst 20 acres of woodland and country gardens, Gilpin Hotel & Lake House is a family-run hotel that has been open since 1987. Originally an Edwardian lodge, the hotel now comprises of the main hotel building and an incredibly luxurious Lake House. With 20 rooms in the main building and 6 suites in the Lake House, this Relais & Chateaux hotel has a very unpretentious, intimate and calming feel and is the perfect base from which to enjoy the lakes. Every room is different and all have been styled in a classic modern aesthetic with homely touches such as comfortable cushions and throws. Many have direct garden access or benefit from a relaxing spa bath. Suites at the Lake House all share a private indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, sauna and spa and all overlook the private lake. In the main building, the lounge is a perfect place to relax after a day's walking or hiking with its book lined shelves, wood fire and sumptuous sofas. Dining is a major part of the Gilpin Hotel & Lake House experience, with one restaurant spread out over 4 different dining rooms, guests can feel like they are dining in a different location every night. With a wine list boasting over 200 wines and an exciting contemporary menu, the food is not to be missed!
