Lower Slaughter Manor
The Cotswolds
Located in the picturesque Gloucestershire village of Lower Slaughter, this country house hotel is a wonderful base for exploring the Cotswolds, one of Britain’s most quaint and beautiful regions.
Surrounded by woodland, winding country lanes, rolling hills and green fields, guests at Lower Slaughter Manor can easily explore the nearby pretty villages and countryside by foot. Alternatively the team at Lower Slaughter Manor are happy to arrange activities throughout your stay ranging from archery and 4x4 driving to walking trails and in-room spa treatments. In summer the five acres of lawns are a perfect place to try your hand at a game of croquet or enjoy afternoon tea and cocktails, or for more active guests, there is a tennis court on site.
The hotel is housed in a well preserved 17th century manor house. Recently refurbished, the new interiors mix traditional and eccentric British touches; bedrooms combine stately four poster beds with luxe fabrics, pretty wallpapers and prints and light-filled bathrooms. For colder months the hotel’s drawing rooms and library have burning log fires and plenty of books and DVDs to while away an afternoon.
Foodies will be pleased to know that the hotel has an award-winning restaurant, The Sixteen58, which serves local and seasonal produce. And across the road is a cosy pub for the winter evenings. For those looking for something a bit further afield, Daylesford Organic Farm is a short drive away; the organic farm shop is the perfect place to pick up a gourmet picnic lunch or dine al fresco in the sun-drenched courtyard.
