This former governor's residence has been converted into a stunning hotel in a prime position on the banks of the Perfume River. Most of the 122 rooms and suites have views of the large swimming pool, through the gardens, over the river to the imposing flagstaff of the citadel. The hotel's signature suites are in the original mansion house and have been decorated in colonial style, which is complemented by the art deco design of the communal areas. The two restaurants offer renowned Hue cuisine and French gastronomic delights. After a day spent discovering the sites of Hue, La Residence's spa and treatments should soothe tired minds and muscles.
