Located in the city centre, Shinta Mani Siem Reap is a luxurious hotel that is truly out-of-the-ordinary. Part of the acclaimed Bensley Collection, this property encapsulates the flamboyant and zany style that the designer Bill Bensley is known and loved for.

You would be forgiven for thinking you were on the set of a Tim Burton film as you walk into the lobby here; black and white stripes surround you, and many odd pieces of art can be found scattered around. These details compliment this monochrome décor theme perfectly and complete the quirky atmosphere.

Formed of just 10 duplex villas, the rooms here offer a high level of privacy. Each two-floor villa looks out onto an atmospheric walled garden, which comes complete with a private pool; so you can easily roll out of bed in the morning and go straight for an early morning dip, if tempted!

All of the furniture throughout the villas has been custom-designed, the light fittings crafted by hand, and the artwork chosen carefully to give a real sense of place, as the majority depict ancient scenes of Khmer civilisation. As well as the luxuriously appointed bed on the ground floor, one of our favourite touches found here is the incredible ‘sky bed’ on the private roof terrace of your villa, where you may enjoy a bit of stargazing in complete comfort: bliss.

Butlers are on hand to provide delicious meals throughout your stay, as well as curate wonderful excursions and recommend the best places to explore around the town for you. For even more pampering, spa treatments based on Khmer traditions are available at the Shinta Mani Spa.

Your stay at Shinta Mani directly contributes to the wellbeing of disadvantaged Cambodians through the Shinta Mani Foundation. Started by a Cambodian businessman, the foundation aims to improve the lives of Cambodians at risk through education and training. They run a free hospitality training school, as well as other education schemes.

Getting to Amanpulo from Manila was very simple and the beach was the most beautiful I’d ever been on; pristine white sand, not a single piece of rubbish in sight. You get your own solar powered golf buggy to drive around resort (and a butler at request). The views from the Hillside Casita were spectacular!
