Avani+ Fares

Located in the beautiful Baa Atoll, Avani+ is unusual for the Maldives in that it is a former coconut plantation, thus peppering the island with beautiful mature trees amidst which nestle the various resort rooms and facilities. The resort's style is simple and contemporary with lots of white, splashes of turquoise blue and sleek tiled rooves - you won't find any tropical thatch here. As with all resorts in the Baa Atoll, the diving and water sports are the standout feature here, although there are plenty of other activities - and a very nice spa - if you fancy a day out of the water for a change. 

There are around 170 rooms and villas at Avani+ ranging from hotel-like rooms in small units dotted around the island to large 2 and 3 bedroom beach or water villas for larger groups or families. Overall the rooms tend to be slightly smaller than at other Maldivian resorts and you're likely to be more aware of your neighbours, but Avani+ is also one of more affordable resorts in the Baa Atoll. The resort's accommodations are particularly well set up for families, with the option of choosing one of the multi-room villas, or taking one of the 4 room "hotel" units in its entirety. 

The resort's facilities are extensive. There are 6 restaurants and bars to choose from, as well as the Petit Bistro - a dedicated kids-only restaurant at the Kids Club. On the fitness front, there's indoor and outdoor gyms, volleyball, tennis and badminton courts, a wellness studio, as well as the water sports centre and the dive centre. For children, there is the aforementioned Kids Club and a recreation centre for teens. Lastly, there is the Avanispa - offering an array of massages and treatments, including a few unique "multigenerational" packages for a family spa experience.
