Sofitel SO Singapore
Singapore
A fabulous boutique hotel in the heart of the Central Business District, Sofitel SO is young, hip and stylish, so it is unsurprising when you find out that the interior design was done by Karl Largerfeld. Renovated from an old office building to a fashionable hotel, half of the building is the original offices, and the second half was built identically to match. The only difference now is the interiors, one side called SO Hip, with bright prints and funky accessories, and the other side staying more French classical in line with the Sofitel brand.
The rooms and suites are opulent with a grey and white theme, adorned with textured leather-clad walls, diamond chandeliers, and colourful swirling skylights over the beds, giving this hotel a homely yet flawlessly fashionable feel. The rooms are smaller than our other Singapore hotels however the designs are light and airy so they do not feel cramped. The devil is in the detail here and each minibar comes with a blackboard and hand written note, offering a helpful Singapore tip or cocktail recipe for the guest to try!
The restaurant is renowned for serving a fantastic fusion menu, with an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work; a must try for foodies! There’s also a French patisserie in the lobby selling all French fancies and excellent pastries. But the biggest surprise here is the rooftop pool, lined by neighbouring sky scrapers on every side. This little haven of relaxation amongst the bustling city is the perfect place to sit with a cocktail after long day of sightseeing. A great option for those wanting to be in amongst the action!
My favourite thing is to go where I've never been.
