Rosewood Phuket
Phuket
Perfectly placed along the tropical seashore of Emerald Bay, the glamorous Rosewood is one of the finest beach side properties to be found in Phuket.
Heaven for discerning travellers and sophisticated locals alike, this hotel guarantees a blissful stay: luxuriate on a beautiful beach, where the glittering aquamarine ocean gently laps onto the soft bright-white sand, and relax around the interconnecting lagoon-style pools that gently meander through the heart of the hotel. Lush greenery surrounds these spots, casting dappled shade onto the areas, as well as stretching out onto the myriad of floating platforms and tasteful sun loungers.
We recommend indulging in the wellness treatments on offer during a stay here, for this resort doubles as a holistic health retreat. Choose between Thai practices, such as traditional massages, in the serene Asaya Spa or enjoy other Asian-inspired healing therapies along the likes of Watsu and Reiki. In our opinion, one of the most calming experiences to be had here is sound therapy, as it uses tranquil Tibetan singing bowls.
71 pavilions and villas lie scattered around the property, all complete with their own private infinity pool and daybeds. The interior is soft and understated giving off a soothing atmosphere, and beautifully-designed Thai touches add subtle pops of colour to the neutral colour palette. These decorations are accentuated by the natural light that streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows, which slide open to the sun terraces outside.
‘Ta Khai’, the hotel’s Thai restaurant, is renowned on the island for serving great seafood cuisine and having a rustic village ambience, thanks to its local chef couple. If you are looking for something different, you can take your pick between the Rosewood’s three other restaurants: the Italian restaurant ‘Red Sauce’, the laid-back island-feel restaurant, ‘The Shack’ and the poolside lounge, ‘Mai’.
After a delicious dinner, we recommend wandering to the beach to witness a shimmering sunset over the wonderful Andaman Sea - bliss.
My favourite thing is to go where I've never been.
