Chewton Glen
New Forest
Chewton Glen is a luxury country house hotel located on the fringes of the New Forest which dates back from the 18th century. A grand manor house nestled in 130 acres of beautiful English gardens and parkland, Chewton Glen is the perfect place to come for some countryside rest and relaxation.
The spacious en-suite rooms are decorated in a contemporary classic style, and most have either balconies or terraces that overlook the picturesque grounds. Chewton Glen's Treehouse suites are also incredibly popular. Located amongst the trees, just a few minutes’ walk from the main house, 12 intimate suites overlook the woodland. Each suite has a terrace hot-tub, and luxurious touches such as a breakfast hamper, wood stove and gourmet mini-bar welcome each guest. The Treehouses are the perfect place for families or those looking for a quiet New Forest retreat.
Within the main house, there are a number of public rooms where guests can relax and enjoy afternoon tea or an aperitif before heading to The Dining Room restaurant. As of April 2017 The Kitchen, a relaxed dining restaurant and cookery school, opens in the grounds. Offering locally sourced produce, some of which is grown within the hotel’s 130 acres, and a cookery school in association with renowned chef James Martin.
Guests can also enjoy a large Roman style indoor pool, a luxurious spa, outdoor pool and sun terrace for warmer months, a children's playground, nine-hole par three golf course and tennis courts on site. In addition the hotel can organise clay-pigeon shooting and a host of typically British outdoor country retreat activities.
When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money.
