The Shipwreck Lodge, located on the famous Skeleton Coast, is a showstopper with its exciting design and dramatic coastal location. Positioned amongst the sand dunes of the Skeleton Coast, the lodge sits proudly, yet isolated, within a vast private concession made up of wind-sculpted beaches and sandy moonscapes.
The 12 shipwreck-themed and wooden suites are well spaced and have cleverly designed floor-to-ceiling windows which face outwards over the Atlantic Ocean and the hauntingly beautiful beaches. The suites are simply yet stylishly furnished in keeping with their surrounds. The shipwreck theme continues with the main areas which are a masterpiece of design with light woods, huge windows and endless decking.
Activities at the lodge include sundowner drives over the dunes, full-day trips to track the elusive desert elephant in the Hoarusib River Valley and trips to the Hoanib River where the extraordinary desert-adapted giraffes can be found.
