Aman Bhutan... The Luxury Amankora Journey

10 days from £11,600 for 2025 per person

This luxury all-inclusive tour explores the heartlands of this pristine and undiscovered Himalayan kingdom, staying in the Amankora lodges, some of the most exclusive hotels in the world. Soak in the culture and traditions of the rural towns and villages peppered across the country and come home to exquisite suites, divine spa treatments and exceptional service – guaranteed to make this the trip of a lifetime.

This journey takes you across the whole Bhutanese landscape, giving you a glimpse into a land that time seems to have forgotten. Begin in the bustling capital city of Thimphu before driving to Punakha, home to one of the country's most important dzongs. From Punakha, wind your way through the mountainous valleys to Gangtey in the remote Phobjikha Valley and then onto Bumthang in central Bhutan, before returning back to the alpine valley of Paro in western Bhutan.

This itinerary includes stays at all the Amankora lodges across the five valleys, but we can also arrange shorter journeys which visit just two and four valleys. A two-valley itinerary would include Punakha and Paro, and a four-valley itinerary would include Punakha, Gangtey and Paro.

This luxury holiday is purely a suggested itinerary. It can be booked as it is or alternatively used as a starting point for creating your own perfect tailor-made holiday to Bhutan. If you'd like to see similar tours, take a look at our other Ultimate Luxury Villas HolidaysHoneymoons and Active Holidays.

I can't think of anything that excites a greater sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country where you are ignorant of almost everything.

Client Testimonials

Difficult to choose the highlight of the trip, can’t choose between… 1) Taj Mahal & Oberoi Amarvilas. 2) Ranthambore. 3) Lake Palace. We have to say a particular thank you for selecting Parmod as our driver. He is a delightful and kind man who took our holiday and our enjoyment as his responsibility. Thank you for putting together such an amazing trip for us. The balance of city and rural destinations was perfect for us and the variety of rooms and hotel types brilliant. Our driver and guides also added so much to the trip with their knowledge of India’s history and culture and their willingness to discuss it both from a professional and personal angle.

I thought the Ampersand team was outstanding. We couldn’t have hoped for anything more.
- Mr Geoffrey Johnson, India
We really enjoyed the trip and were happy that we squeezed so much into a few short days. The Burmese people were lovely and the sites were fantastic. We really enjoyed the balloon ride and would highly suggest it to others in the future. The trip went super smoothly and a good time plus learning happened for all. Yangon was nice as the Strand was quite amazing and we of course loved the giant gold temple. Many thanks for all of your help and look forward to future travel with you.
