Royal Britain... A Luxury Tailor-made Tour of London and Edinburgh
6 days from £3,150 / $4,150 per person
This classic combination of London and Edinburgh allows you to explore the best of Royal Britain using only the finest hotels and arrangements. You will visit Royal sites including palaces, castles and residences, and learn about Royal weddings, births and scandals as you journey the length of the UK.
In London stay at the illustrious Brown’s Hotel, right in the beating heart of Mayfair, one of the city’s most exclusive areas. Since opening on Albemarle Street in 1837 the esteemed hotel has been a playing ground for the glitterati of society; from royals and presidents to world-famous authors. Add your name to the guest book and revel in the history of this classic London hotel. Whilst in the capital, you will explore the iconic Royal sites with your dedicated Blue Badge guide, who will bring to life the history of Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and the Crown Jewels at the Tower of London. In the evening, dine at The Goring’s Michelin Star restaurant, The Dining Room which has been a firm Royal favourite for many years, and where the Queen Mother famously enjoyed Eggs Drumkilbo – a lobster and egg-based dish that remains one of the most popular dishes.
With the spotlight on Windsor, you will also be taken on a Royal Wedding Tour around Windsor Castle and St George’s Chapel. The medieval chapel is a sight to behold, with its impressive Gothic vaulted roof adorned with banners and heraldry of legendary Knights of the realm. It can almost be described as a small cathedral rather than a chapel! Prince Harry was baptised in St George’s Chapel in December 1984, and with the world watching, married Meghan Markle on 19th May 2018. Princess Eugenie also married Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel in October 2018. On your private tour of the Castle, the largest inhabited castle in the world, you will explore the extraordinary State Apartments, rich in artistic treasures and royal history, and literally walk in the footsteps of Presidents, Heads of State and VIPs from all over the world. It is an impressive castle and where the Queen spends most weekends. You can also walk down into the historic town of Eton and visit the ancient school, alma mater to Princes William and Harry, as well as many notable actors, writers and politicians.
From London you will fly to Edinburgh, Scotland's compact, hilly capital. This picturesque city combines the winding, cobbled streets of the medieval Old Town with the elegant Georgian New Town, dotted with manicured gardens and neoclassical buildings. Looming over the city is Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny, used for the coronation of Scottish rulers. For a truly regal Edinburgh experience The Balmoral, located at Number 1 Princes Street, is the best address in town. A landmark in the centre of the city, the historic building’s grand clock still dominates the skyline, while its enviable location, stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and world-class hospitality provide the perfect retreat.
