The Royal Scotsman: The Highland Journey
3 days from £2,350 / $3,760 per person
This short tour aboard the Royal Scotsman will allow you to experience the highlights of the Scottish Highlands in true comfort and style. Start your journey in Edinburgh where you will board the train at Waverley Station and be welcomed with a delicious Afternoon Tea. Enjoy tea as you travel up to the Cairngorm's National Park where sightseeing or red deer and other wildlife are common. The next day you will move on to Rothiemurchus Estate where you'll partake in some outdoor activities such as clay pigeon shooting or, alternatively, enjoy a tour of the estate before enjoying refreshments at the hunting lodge. A visit to a Strathisla Distillery, home to Chivas Regal, and a stop at Culloden Battlefield all follow. After a hearty Scottish breakfast the next day you will return to Edinburgh Waverley passing through the former Kingdom of Fife on your way. During your two nights on board a mixture of formal and informal dinners will be served alongside traditional Scottish evening entertainment from local musicians to story-telling highlanders.
Journeys on The Royal Scotsman can also easily be extended to make up longer itineraries visiting other locations in the UK and Ireland. This tour includes luxury vehicles for all transfers and private Blue Badge guides or equivalent for sightseeing tours.
