Three Little Tastes of Heaven in Sri Lanka
10 days from £6,660 for 2024 per person
It is said that Sri Lanka was the original Garden of Eden and it only takes one visit to understand why. On the basis that less is more we have chosen our three favourite spots where the combination of bliss and luxury are as close to heaven as one can achieve on Earth. These are the historical 17th century Dutch Fort of Galle staying at the exquisite, colonial hotel Amangalla, the pristine and stunning palm fringed beach at Amanwella, and the emerald undulating tea plantations at Tea Trails.
This in-depth tour encompasses all the major sites of the Cultural Triangle before taking a leisurely route through the centre and south visiting temples, tea plantations and a national park to reach one of the glorious beaches that stretch the length of the southwest coast. Highlights of the north include Anuradhapura, 4th century BC cradle of Buddhism, the exquisite carved rock Buddhas at Polonnaruwa and Kandy with its wonderful Peradeniya Botanical Gardens and the Temple of the Tooth.
Carry on up to the High Country to relax on a charming tea plantation before going to the elephant and leopard filled Yala National Park located in the southeast. Follow the coast and explore the fort in Galle, then head north to beautiful beaches of Bentota and finish in Colombo, one of Asia's smaller and more charming capitals.
This luxury holiday is a suggested itinerary; it can be booked as it is or used as a starting point for creating your perfect tailor-made tour of Sri Lanka.
