Catriona grew up immersed in the world of hospitality. Her parents owned and managed a string of quintessential British pubs across southern England, and her childhood was spent between the vibrant bustle of London and the tranquil charm of the Suffolk countryside and coast, always surrounded by travellers, stories and the rhythm of service. This early exposure sparked a lifelong fascination with people and places, later nurtured through extensive travels across Europe during her teens. That passion led her to the University of Surrey, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management.

Catriona is one of Ampersand’s highly experienced travel specialists, with deep, first-hand knowledge of destinations across Asia. She has visited the majority of countries on the continent - many of them several times - both on in-depth research trips and personal journeys, allowing her to offer genuinely informed and immersive advice. In addition to her Asian expertise, Catriona is also well-versed in Southern Africa, with a particular passion for South Africa, where she has spent significant time exploring the country’s diverse landscapes, wildlife and world-class hospitality offerings. Her nuanced understanding of these regions ensures she can craft tailor-made itineraries that are as culturally rich as they are flawlessly executed.

Though India remains her enduring favourite destination, Bhutan also holds a special place in her heart: “Not only is the setting utterly breathtaking, the people are so gracious and welcoming, it felt almost like coming home.”
